About Me
MEET JACQUELINE
I believe that we all have a duty to leave this world better than we found it. …and if you can’t do that, kindly get out of the way of those who can.
As a Community Advocate, Jacqueline serves as a connector, bridging people and organizations with those in need. Some of the initiatives Jacqueline has supported are volunteer opportunities that meet the residents essential needs; feeding the homeless; supporting, mentoring, and tutoring students in Lewisville Independent School District (LISD) facilitated by Concerned Citizens and African American Parents (CCAAP); former Social Justice Events Lead sponsored by Westside Baptist Church (WBC); and voter registration.
Although a native of Oklahoma, Jacqueline established her roots in North Texas managing her own business for 30 years nurturing children through her registered home daycare. Seeking to do more, she prayed for doors to open and promised to walk in unapologetically. As those doors began to open, Jacqueline saw every door as an assignment. Those assignments led to connections with people and she immediately began to make an impact.
Jacqueline believes no matter one’s skin color, socioeconomic status or gender, everyone deserves a fair opportunity to succeed. Continuing the movement of community and social advancement she was asked to lead the Social Justice Events program at Westside Baptist Church. Building upon equity for all, she led an initiative that helped with registering voters and bringing voters to the polls. Following she began work with Denton Democrats and Denton County Election Office. Seeing that it was a natural fit, Jacqueline was all hands-on deck with supporting more communities via non-profit work and empowering women with the help of several organizations she is affiliated with, one being Empower Women of Color North Texas (NTX), where she serves as a Director.
In 2015, Jacqueline almost lost her middle daughter. The family had no idea how gravely ill her daughter was until learning her hemoglobin was barely over 3 (Normal 11 – 15). As it turned out, her daughter was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia and needed a blood marrow (stem cell) transplant. Jacqueline’s family was blessed because her eldest daughter was a 100% match. Because of Jacqueline’s experience, she is now saving lives by partnering with ‘Be the Match’ by registering People of Color as Bone Marrow donors. In Jacqueline’s words, “God is so AMAZING! I want to share my story and pray that it will help others going through a similar situation.”
Whether Jacqueline is leading a community event, or is called upon to support others, she continues to leave her fingerprints throughout her community. It does not end there, Jacqueline is also a published best-selling Author in ‘Soul Talk Vol 3’.
